One For Sorrow Collection - Magpie Choker

One of my first pieces, created in homage to my mother, Penny, that used to call me a Magpie for ‘acquiring’ some of the new jewellery out of stock… if only for a morning before I got rumbled!

Turned the image into a vector for transferring onto Silver (925) sheet
Hand carving the two wings to match the template. I like how they are slightly different.
Working out the degree in which I want the wings set.
Soldering the hinges onto the wings.
Stainless steel pins and graphite pencil lead helps to stop the solder running into the tubes.
Adding the hinge pins before adding the art-deco inspired tail.
Adding a Figaro style chain to follow along with the aesthetics of the choker.
Heavy jumps to ensure it all sits correctly on the neck
