Custom Wedding Bands - 9ct White Gold

Two completely different styled wedding bands; one is a slim rectangular signet ring, the other is a wishbone style to accommodate the client's Sapphire and Diamond cluster engagement ring.
These were my first wedding band commissions and my first venture into 9ct White Gold for some close friends... perfection was my only goal!
I first tackled the signet ring as I knew the dimensions of the signet's table and finger size.
When it came to graduating the shoulders into the shank, I noticed that I was carving these too thin and created a Martini glass style which I didn't like for this piece.
Time to start again and learn from the mistakes... this one is to be bolder in the shoulders and retain a decent thickness throughout the shank.
Work In Progress... I already like the way this coming together!
Perfection! The final wax carving is perfectly balanced. Corners are left sharp to assist with a cleaner casting.
Time to start on the Wishbone style. I have identified the size of the cluster engagement ring and started to create curves to blend from there.
Trial run has a good look to it, but I wanted to tie in similar dimensions to the signet ring so I will again need to beef it up!
A change from Green wax to Blue in order to get some sharper edges when carving. I utilised the sides of a pear-shape from a drawing template to get the correct elegant curvature to the wishbone.
Both pieces back from the casting house and given a quick clean up before polishing.
Stunning pieces, both totally different but with similarities to tie them both together.
Special wedding boxes where bother rings fit inside a black wooden box! Nothing but the best for my clients!
Here they both are shining in the sunshine before I hand deliver them to the clients.
That's not an opal set in the top... that's just the reflection of my high polishing! X
